If I could go through all of the millions of songs I have on my computers to see the most played ones, Greg Laswell’s songs from his C.D., Three Flights from Alto Nido would top the list. I was introduced to Greg Laswell by an awesome friend (Tucker) who for every birthday and christmas buys me a C.D. from a band I’ve never heard of before. When I first listened to his music I was drawn in right away. Greg Laswell’s voice parallels the the emotions of his lyrics perfectly. It was so great to see him in person tonight. This was the first time that I had even been to a concert where everyone was completely silent when slower and more emotion packed songs were being played. It was almost a respect for the power of his lyrics and his piano/guitar. It was a great trip and a really fun experience. It’s so much fun to see the music of a band you love playing in front of you. You can feel the passion that the musician intended everyone to hear originally, but is not as effective when recorded, and played on a C.D. or as a MP3. So thanks Greg Laswell and the awesome band that opened for you, Elizabeth and the Catapult. I had a swell of a good time.
